The ‘Mind Spring Workplace’—meaning ‘A Workplace that Sees the Mind of Workers’—currently has agreements with nine workplaces and provides comprehensive support to reduce depression and suicide rates among employees.

On the 10th, the Public Health Center visited one of the partner workplaces, WONKANGMETAL, to conduct suicide prevention lifeguard training and a campaign to raise awareness on the value of life.

Notably, during the ‘Workplace Mental Health Check’ held on the same day, a Nepali interpreter was provided for 13 Nepali foreign workers to conduct one-on-one depression scale assessments. Additionally, the project linked with the Hongseong Family Center’s Korean language education support to assist foreign workers in maintaining stable workplace lives.

Furthermore, workers identified as high-risk for mental health issues at Mind Spring Workplaces receive tailored psychological support services, including referrals to psychiatric treatment and financial assistance for professional counseling.

Kim Jeong-sik, Director of the Public Health Center, said, “We hope more workplaces in the region will participate as Mind Spring Workplaces so that workers can receive mental health services. We will do our best to reduce the regional suicide rate through various program linkages and efforts to promote respect for life.”
